Terms of sale

Version 1.1 · last updated 2026-07-26

These terms apply when you buy the Geckio theme from us. Read the section on the right of withdrawal in particular — it works differently for files you download straight away.

2. What you are buying

You are buying a licence to use Geckio, a theme for Shopify that you install in your own store. You receive a zip file. It is not a subscription, and no money is taken again automatically.

  • Geckio Basic $349 total. The whole foundation — speed, languages and checkout, without the selling machinery.
  • Geckio Pro $499 total. Everything in Basic — plus the surfaces that make the cart grow.

3. Prices and payment

Prices on this page are in US dollars; on the Danish pages they are in Danish kroner. Whichever the currency, the price shown is the total price — any tax that applies is contained in that amount, and nothing is added at payment. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never store your card details. Stripe sends a receipt to the e-mail address you give at checkout.

Purchases in Denmark include 25% Danish VAT, which is shown on the receipt. If you buy as a business in another EU country and give a valid VAT number, VAT is settled under the reverse-charge rules; the price is the same, and no Danish VAT is charged.

4. Delivery

Delivery is immediate. As soon as the payment goes through you get a download link for the file. The link does not expire, so you can fetch the theme again if you later have to reinstall your store.

If you have paid without receiving the link — because the browser window closed, for instance — write to us. The purchase is on record and we will send the file.

5. The right of withdrawal ends at purchase

As a consumer you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online. There is an exception for digital content delivered immediately, and we rely on it.

By completing the purchase you give your express consent to delivery beginning immediately, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. You confirm this by ticking the box in the payment window, and the purchase cannot be completed without it.

Delivery is treated as having begun the moment your download link is made available — not when you download the file. The purchase therefore cannot be withdrawn, and the amount is not refunded.

This does not affect your rights if the theme is faulty: if it does not work as described, you have the rights set out in section 8. No terms can set those aside.

6. Licence

A licence gives you the right to use the theme in one live store. You are free to adapt the theme’s code for that store. Development and test stores do not count towards the limit.

You may not:

  • resell, rent out or redistribute the theme, either as a file or as part of another theme
  • use the same licence in more than one live store
  • make the theme’s source code publicly available

If you build stores for other people, each store needs its own licence — or write to us about an agency licence.

7. Updates and support

Fixes and improvements to the version you bought are yours at no extra cost. We cannot promise that a future major version is included in your purchase; if it is not, we will say so clearly in advance.

Note that updating a Shopify theme means installing it as a new theme. Your settings and pages do not carry over automatically — we describe how to move them alongside each update.

8. Faulty goods

If the theme does not work as described, you have the statutory remedies for defects under the Danish Sale of Goods Act (købeloven), which implements the EU rules on digital content. Write to us with a description of the fault, which version you have and which store it concerns, and we will fix it or refund you.

Those remedies do not cover faults caused by changes you or a third party made to the code, or conflicts with apps you installed yourself.

9. Liability

We are not liable for indirect losses, including lost revenue or lost data. Our total liability cannot exceed the amount you paid for the licence.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy, write to us first — most things are settled there. If we get no further, as a consumer you can bring a complaint to Center for Klageløsning (the Danish Centre for Complaint Resolution), Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark. If mediation there does not resolve it, the case can be brought before Forbrugerklagenævnet, the Danish Consumer Complaints Board.

11. Governing law

The purchase is governed by Danish law. If you are a consumer, you do not lose the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country of residence.
